Oracle Senior Manager, Software Development (Hands-on) in Bellevue, Washington
Job Description
As a Hands on Technical Software Development Manager, you will report directly to the product Director and be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of Fusion Analytics Warehouse. The ideal candidate should have hands on technical experience, a strong background in software development and management, with experience leading a team in an Agile and DevOps environment. You should be passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement and should be able to mentor and coach team members to help them develop their skills and achieve their career goals. Your experience in leading agile software development teams will allow you to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve the quality and efficiency of the software development process. You should be an excellent communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and should have experience in developing and presenting roadmaps and business cases to senior management. Your experience in leading cross-functional teams will enable you to work collaboratively with other teams across the world. Your technical experience will allow you to oversee the design of scalable and reliable systems as you collaborate with architects and highly experienced engineers. Most importantly, you should be a team player, someone who is eager to learn, passionate about people, and willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. You will also represent the team in various architecture reviews and release management forums.
Responsibilities
Experience and Skills
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Minimum of 6 years of experience as a manager of an Agile software development team
4+ years of experience leading teams in the development of highly scalable, cloud-based solutions
4+ years of experience leading teams in a product development environment, responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and operating their solution
Proven track record of developing engineering talent, growing careers, and teams.
Expert knowledge of work item management tools like Jira etc.
Working knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, including an understanding of microservices and associated technologies.
Working knowledge of Linux/Unix.
Working knowledge of build automation, continuous integration, or continuous deployment tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Grunt, RunDeck, Ansible, etc.
Solid understanding of cloud technologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to all audiences.
Experience with working flexible hours and working with team members in a global setting with distributed time zones.
Manage an engineering team of 6+ engineers.
Work allocation, performance mgmt., mentoring, etc
Represent cloud engineering team in technical architecture discussions, security reviews
Code review of Java & Python
Make minor fixes and enhancements (if required)
will be a plus
Scrum or Agile certified
3+ years of experience in public cloud computing
Working experience with Scaled Agile Framework or related certification
Working experience with Java and Python
Previous experience developing and running a cloud application
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $121,900 to $285,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Colorado Pay Range: from $112,300 to $256,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
New York City Pay Range: from $127,600 to $271,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Washington Pay Range: from $142,600 to $271,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
