The Senior Information Security Engineer provides leadership across a broad range of Information Security disciplines. This role evaluates new technologies and shares security knowledge and best practices and is an integral part of the Tableau security team.Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Perform hunting exercises using threat intelligence, analysis of anomalous log data and results of historical events and data to detect threatsDevelop anomaly detection dashboards and reports to identify potential threats, suspicious activity, and intrusionsDevelop scripts, systems, processes and content to improve detective capabilitiesServe as subject matter expert and point of escalation on the Security team Partner cross-functionally to ensure security technologies are actively managed and fully leveragedPartner with teams across the company to triage and respond to security incidentsPerform security reviews to identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plansAdvise and consult with internal customers on risk assessment, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediationEvaluate, recommend, and implement security solutions and practices that protect company services and information assets; help the company manage risks and meet compliance obligationsDevelop security controls and processes that align with company policies and regulatory requirementsPartner with business groups to provide guidance on security-related topicsParticipate in team incident response on-call rotationShare knowledge and experience with peer team members in a mentoring capacityKnowledge and Skill RequirementsAdvanced understanding of information security principles and practicesExpert knowledge of security technologies, including: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, VPNs, encryption, AWS IAM, network and application vulnerability assessment Knowledge of Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems, web technologies, database systems, networking principles, access control methods, and security conceptsAbility to automate tasks and interact with APIs using common scripting languages such as Ruby or PythonFamiliar with security tools such as Splunk, nmap, Burp Suite, Wireshark, Chef/Puppet/SaltExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with internal and external customers of all levels of the organizationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work well under pressure within a closely coordinated team during emergenciesExcellent organizational skills and ability to manage workload with competing and shifting prioritiesFlexible, dependable and self-motivatedEducation/Experience:BS in Computer Science/related degree or equivalent work experience10+ years in the information technology field with 7+ years focused on security disciplines CISSP or other security certifications helpful, but not requiredExtensive experience in monitoring, detecting, reporting security weaknesses, and enforcing information security policies and best practices in a corporate environment using tools such as Splunk and vulnerability management softwareExperience developing security hardening procedures and security best practicesAccommodationsIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Posting State
