We are growing a team to support our Design for Scale group, which helps deploy automation across the Amazon supply chain.

Our Finance team is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with a proven ability to work within a dynamic environment and partner with senior leadership to achieve their goals. This role will partner with our supply chain and logistics teams to support decision making, scale new products and systems, and drive efficiency.

This person must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate an understanding of core finance and accounting principles, and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will collaborate directly with key business stakeholders to provide performance insights, support strategic decision making and planning, develop and maintain financial models evaluating opportunities, and provide recommendations based on data. You will also identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Perform detailed financial analysis on key initiatives and proposals

  • Establish, invent, and maintain operating and business metrics to evaluate performance and efficiency

  • Lead short and long-term financial planning and budgeting for your space

  • Act as a controller on spending proposals and ensure the team is meeting their plan

  • Use the expertise in the collection, analysis and management of quantitative financial data, creating reports for month end close analysis and financial forecasts

  • Controllership will be your top priority. You will work with multiple data sources and will identify basic control risks, evaluate impact, propose changes, and implement improvements to remediate gaps

  • Manage monthly and quarterly forecast for both Opex/Capex and headcount

  • Partner and influence the stakeholders on the definition of strategic management of HC

  • Provide insights for monthly and quarterly business reviews on a timely manner

  • Monitor forecast accuracy, understand drivers of variances, and provide insightful commentary & analysis for both current period and future periods

  • Partner with your business teams, and lead the developing of monthly financial close activities, planning, and reporting models while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to your business partners

  • Perform ad-hoc business analyses, and financial modeling. Present recommendations to senior management on strategic decisions, and planned future initiatives

  • Demonstrate appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls

  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes; lead projects to execute on those opportunities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
