The Enterprise People Technology team supports the successful deployment and adoption of new People technology across the enterprise. What you'll do:

• Provide strategic guidance in system architecture and software development process.

• Hands on in prototyping, researching and construction of mission critical systems.

• Lead and mentor teams in the implementation of complex systems, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the continuous improvement of our technology stack and processes.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI and software engineering, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.

• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient systems that meet business goals and customer needs.

• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and troubleshooting sessions to ensure the highest standards of development.

• Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity within the team.

Leadership and Influence - the ability to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and influence decision-making processes at all levels of the organization is vital. This includes promoting a culture of technical excellence, encouraging continuous learning, and fostering collaboration across teams.

Excellent Problem-Solving Skills - senior distinguished engineers are expected to tackle some of the most challenging problems in the organization. This requires exceptional analytical skills, creativity, and the ability to develop innovative solutions that are scalable, efficient, and effective.

Effective Communication and Collaboration - exceptional communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and effectively negotiate and resolve conflicts. We use a hybrid way of working that is primarily in office coupled with virtual when not onsite. Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

The annual salary range for this position is $192,000.00-$384,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
