SAP Concur is establishing a new Configuration Management program and team that is essential for ensuring a known, secure, and trusted state of our services.This is your chance to influence and impact the foundation and future of the program.

The SAP Concur Configuration Management is a global team with two core functions, operations and compliance. It closely interacts with software and infrastructure engineers as well as the compliance team to ensure that we identified, documented and audit configuration items. The configuration management team will help establish the standards and guidelines for the AWS Cloud environment as well as provide essential direction for the COLO environments as they transition onto the AWS Cloud environment.

The Configuration Management Team is looking for a Senior Configuration Manager. This hands-on person will work with software and infrastructure engineers to gather configuration management CI items, key data points, perform data mapping between our systems of record (JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, AWS and ServiceNow) to harmonize the data for reporting purposes.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Developing, documenting and implementing the configuration management practice and organization plan for the Concur Cloud SaAS platform

  • Addresses roles, responsibilities, and configuration management processes and procedures

  • Establishes a process for identifying configuration items throughout the system development life cycle and for managing the configuration of the configuration items

  • Defines the configuration items for the information system and places the configuration items under configuration management

  • Contributor of the configuration management plan

  • Validating controls for the Configuration of various databases and technological infrastructures for their organization

  • Assist Engineering Lead in Maintaining configuration registry and documentation of configuration Items

  • Create and maintain documentation for tools used to support configuration management

  • Identify errors in the build and release process; recommend improvements

  • Designing and developing technological infrastructures to track configuration management details

  • Recommending enhancements within technological systems and performing configuration verification tasks

  • Conducting assessments regarding hardware and software configuration

  • Facilitate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings

  • Facilitate deep dive discussions on the CI/CD Pipeline process with the engineering leads to ensure we have properly addressed configuration requirements, configuration items, and configuration attributes for the initial configuration management implementation

  • Document the configuration management lifecycle and ensure that we have traceability and accountability identified for the agile engineering teams

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Systems Engineering and 6 years of related experience

  • Experience with the establishing and implementing a configuration management process and solution for a company.

  • Applicants should be expert critical thinkers and problem-solvers.

  • Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to explain highly technical terms to those who may not have an in-depth understanding of the subject.

  • Familiarity and experience with FedRAMP

  • The ability to audit IT systems designs and controls to NIST standards.

  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly with different areas of the business.

  • Be a self-starter with the capability to work autonomously

  • Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

  • Knowledge or experience in software development concepts, software build processes, or change management (JIRA, Jenkins, GitHub)

  • Knowledge or experience with the AWS Cloud

  • International working experience is a plus
