Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) at Amazon, you will lead the design and development of robust testing frameworks and tools, collaborating closely with a team of engineers and product managers. To succeed in this role, you must uphold high standards for code quality, comprehensive test coverage, and operational excellence. You will create mechanisms to achieve and iterate on quality improvements, leading testing projects end-to-end while working with and guiding other engineers to ensure top-notch software delivery. Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development testing experience

• 1+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

• Experience in penetration testing and exploitability-focused vulnerability assessment

• Experience in platform-level security mitigations and hardening for Linux and Windows

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment

• Experience with security in service-oriented architectures and web services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
