"Lead the inventory Recycling Program for the US" This role gives you the chance to develop strategies and implement solutions to reduce waste and ensure vendor compliance.

As a Vendor Manager, Zero Waste, you be responsible for owning program and vendor management project strategy as it relates to inventory Recycling. You will work closely with product managers and provide the vendor management strategy. You will work with cross-functional organizations including Program, Product & Tech teams, finance, legal, operations, Product Safety, and external vendors. This role requires a strategic and organized leader with program management, project management, vendor management capabilities.

Key job responsibilities

• Set the strategy to build a regional Recycling Program

• Negotiate new terms and conditions with external vendors

• Review new vendor capabilities to ensure they align with the team's vision and are operationally feasible.

• Partner with ReCommerce and contribute to the 3-year planning, for multiple channels

• Partner with business intelligence team to ensure metrics, data, and analytics capabilities exist to make data-based decisions.

• Write white papers related to program changes and improvements, which require external vendors or new programs.

• Identifying industry trends and identifying the right vendor partners to support the strategic goals and objectives.

• Representing Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top vendors and building long term strategic relationships.

• Supporting strategic negotiations with external vendors.

• Work cross-functionally with Product Owners, Tech, Business, Finance, Product Safety, Legal, ACES and Operations partners

• Resolving barriers and issues to improved recovery and customer experience

A day in the life

You will engage with internal and external customers and stakeholders on exciting and new developments including regionalization, waste reduction, and compliance. Your role will be to set the strategic for the growing inventory recycling program.

About the team

The US Donations and Recycling Team's mission is to make an impact on people and our communities through our automated donations program, reduce recycling waste to zero, and to maximize recovery for Amazon. Our team focuses on ReCommerce channels and external vendors to provide unique solutions. As part of the larger WWRR&S organization, we have direct partnerships with product and technical leaders to automate our solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
