Description

Amazon Engineering Services is looking for a Program Manager that can provide capital planning and project management support directly contributing to growing Amazon’s customer fulfillment network. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Customer Fulfillment Business Units, including support for new buildings, expansions, retrofits and new technology initiatives.

As a Program Manager you will manage and support stakeholders and execution teams through Post-CAR Support (PCS) activities. This includes accurate and timely budget submissions after funding is approved, and data management of the Capital Planning Ledger and related funding attributes.

The Program Manager works with Capital Planning to ensure adequate project funding is secured, enabling on time budget project execution. This role requires partnering with internal Amazon teams and build processes and tools to enable scalable and flexible operations.

A Program Manager partners and contributes across all functions within Customer Fulfillment and will actively manage multiple stakeholders including Finance, Program Management Office, Supply Chain Capacity, Startup, Launch, Real Estate, Construction, Operations Engineering, and Procurement.

Key job responsibilities

1) Timely and accurate creation of budgets across all business units (Customer Fulfillment, Transportation, Emerging Markets, etc.) for GESS Execution teams to utilize in support of Amazon's fulfillment network.

2) Management of key funding attributes (cost, location, funding type, etc.) in the Capital Planning ledger.

3) Partnership with teams within EP&A Planning, GES, and across the network to troubleshoot issues after funding is approved, including support of budget adjustments.

4) Reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the speed and quality of funding and ledger entry creation.

About the team

Post-CAR Support (PCS) within Capital Planning actions Coupa budget setups and initiates Capital Planning Ledger uploads once CARs are fully approved by Capital Planning within the Amazon approvals tool, for all CARs across AMZL, NACF, RSR/SSD, Air, Amazon Pharmacy, Sort Center, and Emerging Market Business Units (BU). Once a SIM is created after approval, PCS will review approval tool documentation, including key details, CAR forms, and the executive summary, to ensure all details are present for both Coupa budget setups and complete CP Ledger entries. These activities support execution teams in delivering capacity for Amazon’s fulfilment network. The team builds and maintains processes that increase the discoverability, accessibility, and usability of data for stakeholders across GES, business/operations teams, and finance teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience working in multiple data platforms (including financial, operational, program/project management tools)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology

  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
