Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. Production Engineering Technician III in Bellevue, Washington

Production Engineering Technician III for Sea-bird Electronics, Inc. in Bellevue, Washington to support and improve manufacturing operations which includes troubleshooting equipment and process issues, performing and documenting fixtures and equipment maintenance, and updating process documentation. Assist Production Engineers with projects either through building or procuring test equipment and performing testing including process validations. Modify detailed design drawings and specifications for electro-mechanical equipment. Modify and revise SolidWorks drawings and models per engineering to correct/improve designs. Update documentation and drawings per Engineering Change Notice (ECN). Maintain, update and verify Bill of Materials (BOM) for a new and existing product. Create SolidWorks product model assemblies. Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements. Recognize and report problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to Supervisor or Operations Manager. Assemble, procure or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods. Read schematics, assembly drawings, datasheets, and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, checkout and troubleshoot equipment. Install and validate equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure. Assist with hands-on training of production associates on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions. Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommend solutions to Production Engineering. Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing; lead, or assist lead with Kaizen events. Lead product design modifications and implementation for cost and manufacturing improvements. Perform tests, capture data, and write results/reports with assistance from Production Engineering.

 

Requires: High school Diploma (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus ten (10) years of experience as Industrial Engineering Technologists and Technicians or in a related occupation in a technical field. Experience must include working on detailed design drawings and specifications for electro-mechanical equipment; Modifying and revising drawings and models per engineering designs; Managing the manufacturing procedures and documentation of areas of responsibility; Creating documentation and troubleshooting guides based on the technical expertise; Photosynthetically available radiation sensor; Free fall ocean color profiler; Ultraviolet spectroscopy nitrate analyzer; and Fluorometer utilizing the viable fluorescents induction relation technique. May work from anywhere in U.S. Salary: Salary: $75,288 per year; Salary Range: $75,288-$77,210 per year.
