Required Skills:

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software services to ensure optimal performance and capacity for growth.

  2. Own back-end data warehouse services, front-end services like Messenger and Newsfeed, and infrastructure components to ensure services run without incident.

  3. Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug the problems in real time in highly complex software systems.

  4. Serve as an escalation contact for service incidents.

  5. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  6. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

    1. Coding in Python, C++, PHP, or Java

    1. TCP/IP network fundamentals and UNIX system concepts
    1. Configuration and maintenance of common applications: Apache, memcached, Squid, MySQL, NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, or SNMP
    1. Working on large-scale internet service architectures: load balancing, LAMP, or CDN's
    1. Building large, highly-scalable performant solutions
    1. Software development in a Unix environment or data processing environment
    1. Linking core web technologies system design and configuration to form an end-to-end solution.

Public Compensation:

$245,588/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits
