If you answered yes to the questions above, we invite you to apply for the Neurodiversity Navigators Adjunct Faculty position. The Bellevue College Neurodiversity Navigators program is seeking a person with strong skills for working with Neurodivergent college student populations across a spectrum of identities, including Black, Indigenous, Students of Color, and LGBTQIA+ students.

 

The Neurodiversity Navigators program is a nationally ranked, cohort-based, series of academic classes and supportive services designed to increase the access, retention, and completion of students self-identifying neurodivergent, including students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more. Experiential Learning cohort classes are designed to support disability identity development through a social justice, strengths-based lens, with a focus on academic and career preparation.

 

The program is seeking additional faculty to teach one or more of the academic classes in the program, including:

 

• FYS 101, First Year Seminar: Neurodiversity Cohort (3 credits, 3 sections per Summer)

• EXPRL 180, Skills for Navigating College and Career (2 credits, 3 sections per Fall)

• EXPRL 181, Self and Community Advocacy (2 credits, 3 sections per Winter)

• EXPRL 182, Executive Functioning in the Workplace (2 credits 2-3 sections per Spring)

• EXPRL 280, Who am I, Where Am I Going? (3 credits, 2 sections per Fall)

• EXPRL 281, Connecting with Community (2 credits, 2 sections per Winter)

• STEM 111, STEM Cohort: Intersections of Disability (2 credits, 2 sections per Fall)

• STEM 112, STEM Cohort: Disability Access and Advocacy (2 credits, 2 sections per Winter)

• STEM 113, STEM Cohort: Disability Inclusion (2 credits, 2 sections per Spring)

 

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

 

Adjunct Professor is typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.

 

Quarterly remuneration for 5-credit lecture class is $5,716.52 - $6,968.62. Compensation is prorated based on type and duration of assignments.Individuals newly hired to Adjunct Professor group at the college are placed at the minimum rate per union bargaining agreement. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.
