The VMware's Cloud Native Business Unit is looking for a strong software engineer to join the team building VKE - VMware Kubernetes Engine. The new family of cloud services provide customers an easy way to deploy and run Kubernetes clusters in a public cloud, currently AWS. In addition to basic lifecycle management (creation, upgrading, resizing, deletion), it also provides consistent management of access policies across clusters, provides metering, auditing capabilities. It aims to support many thousands of customers and Kubernetes clusters across multiple clouds and multiple regions in the world.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
In this role you will join a group of highly talented and passionate engineers who work together closely. If you are passionate about distributed computing, scalable cloud services, cloud-native applications, network, or security, you can help us build a compelling product that is valuable to our customers.
Design and develop our Kubernetes as a Service offering.
Design and implement solutions that will be continuously deployed into production.
Write automated feature and regression tests as part of daily development. We believe that developers are responsible for the quality of their code.
Play an active hands-on role across the entire software creation process, including helping to deliver your software into production and ensuring that it continues to operate as designed.
Familiarity with public cloud implementations – AWS or Azure
HTTP & REST
C/C++ or GO/Java programming language
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, software as a service, distributed systems and virtualization technologies is definitely a plus
Ability to be productive individually as well as collaborate well in a team
BS/MS/Ph.D degree in E.E or C.S.
