TerraPower MCFR Software Quality Process Lead in Bellevue, Washington

MCFR Software Quality Process Lead The Molten Chloride Reactor Experiment (MCRE) is slated to be the first liquid fueled fast spectrum reactor operated. MCRE is going to be authorized by the DOE to be built and operated at the Idaho National Laboratory. As part of the design process for this nuclear facility, there are requirements for design and analysis tools meet applicable NQA-1 sections for software. This is a unique opportunity to work on transitioning from Research and Development (R&D) work to a production environment to see the near term deployment of an advanced reactor. The impact of this work will have long lasting effects on the overall Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) project. This role is envisioned to assist engineers in getting software Quality Process work completed for novel use cases. Part of this role will be to provide a bridge between MCRE project engineering, central software program management, Quality Assurance, Information Technology, and external partners to see the successful maturation of the software being used to design and analyze a first of a kind system, as well as software used to operate the reactor. Responsibilities * Support implementation of software quality processes and procedures on Design, Analysis, and reactor operation software used across the MCRE project. * Provide an interface between MCRE project design engineers, central software program management, Quality Assurance (QA), Information Technology (IT), and external stakeholders on the project. * Support Engineering with the development and implementation of Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) plans related to design and analysis software. * Provide Nuclear Quality technical experience and direction. Key Qualifications and Skills * Bachelor's degree in nuclear QA/QC, Engineering or relevant scientific or technical field with equivalent work experience considered. * Knowledge of quality assurance regulatory, contractual, and technical documents (e.g. DOE O 414.1D, 10 CFR Part 830 Subpart A, and NQA-1-2008+) * Specific knowledge of NQA-1 quality assurance including Part II, Subpart 2.7, Subpart 2.14, and how this interfaces with requirements in DOE O 414.1D. * Experience with nuclear design and analysis tools a plus. * Experience with digital controls (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, FPGAs) a plus. * Experience with software development tools (software languages, Version Control, Development
