MCFR Senior Equipment Support Structural Design Engineer TerraPower, LLC. Is seeking a highly motivated Senior Equipment Support Structural Design Engineer. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert for TerraPower's MCFR advanced nuclear reactor development program with focus on the structural design, specification, and evaluation of high-temperature equipment supports and radiation shielding components and their attachment to the facility. Candidates must be licensed engineers in Washington state or have the ability to become licensed in short order. Responsibilities: * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nuclear engineers, mechanical engineers, construction professionals, and regulatory authorities, to integrate structural designs seamlessly into the MCFR program. * Originate structural design calculations and reports for equipment supports, racks, and frames, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations, including seismic requirements in accordance with ASCE 4, ASCE 7, ASCE 43, and IBC. * Apply AISC 360, AISC 370, and AISC N690 rules to design and evaluate carbon and stainless-steel structural elements and support frames, including welded and bolted connections. * Design and specify structural welds in accordance with AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.6. * Apply ACI 318 and AISC 349 rules to design and evaluate safe and efficient concrete anchorage solutions for the advanced nuclear reactor equipment supports. * Provide support for interpretation of civil design specifications, codes, and standards, ensuring compliance and safety throughout the project. * Conduct structural analyses using advanced engineering software and tools, including finite element analysis, to assess the performance and behavior of structural components under various loading conditions and environmental factors. * Utilize experience with civil/structural software such as ANSYS, Tekla, or similar, to recommend and act as point of contact for structural design software used in steel connection designs. * Participate in safety assessments, risk analyses, and design reviews to identify and mitigate potential structural vulnerabilities and hazards within the advanced nuclear reactor system. * Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables. * Prov
