A rapidly-growing firm, is currently seeking a Junior Accountant for a contracted position with the opportunity for an extension. This company is always looking for self-motivated individuals who would be interested in growing within the firm. The Junior Accountant must have an accounting background and have a strong interest in gaining professional experience. This role will work closely with the controller, assist with various accounting processes, and strive to deliver only the highest quality of work to our clients.


  • Collect incoming vendor invoices and obtain proper written approvals from management

  • Ensure expenses are recorded appropriately and timely in the accounting system

  • Obtain expense reports for company credit card transactions from cardholders

  • Record credit card transactions in accounting system

  • Ensure collection and reconciliation of all receipts related to company credit card transactions

  • Review shipping logs to classify related expenses to the appropriate budgets

  • Ensure proper tax documentation, including W9s, are maintained for all vendors

  • Perform period reviews of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts for accuracy and completeness

  • Works with different departments to get any necessary follow-up documentation related to expenses

  • Ensure intercompany transactions are posted in a timely manner

  • Perform intercompany reconciliations and account reconciliations on a monthly basis

  • Maintain listing of foreign currency rates for foreign subsidiaries

  • Ensure proper capitalization of capital expenditures and record depreciation on a monthly basis

  • Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries related to month-end close

  • Assist with period close procedures as needed

  • Annual preparation and filing of 1099 forms

  • Identify discrepancies or irregularities and flag and resolved as needed

  • Assist with annual audit as needed

  • Assist with maintenance and organization of accounting files

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting processes

  • Proficient in Pivot Tables and Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks a plus!

Pay Range: $18-26/hr
