In this role you will work as part of a team to address human factors, safety management, risk communication, and risk perception issues in a variety of contexts that span occupational, consumer, and community settings, such as those involving consumer products, manufacturing, oil & gas production, chemical products, environmental exposures, electronics, and more. Activities in these contexts will focus on a combination of analyzing accidents and injuries that have occurred in the past and managing safety risk to help prevent such incidents in the future.You will be responsible for:Managing a range of consulting activities that involve human factors issues, such as limitations of human perceptual, cognitive, and response capabilitiesDeveloping client contactsWorking on multi-disciplinary projects and conducting a variety of analysesProviding case management, information processing, and other project supportConducting research to obtain and review technical data, scientific literature, regulations, and standardsAssisting with the design and evaluation of safety management practices and safety informationYou will have the following skills and qualifications:Ph.D. in Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldExcellent communicator in both written and verbal formsProficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPointAssertive self-starter who is able to accurately and flexibly work under deadlinesMathematical aptitudeDesire to expand present knowledge, especially as related to various industries and applied contextsAbility to use basic scientific research to understand and solve applied problemsTo learn more about life at Exponent, check out our Graduate Students page at !We value and encourage diversity and inclusivity across all facets of our firm.
