Chewy Grace Hopper 2023 : Infrastructure Engineer in Bellevue, Washington
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring in our Infrastructure and Platform Engineering department in Bellevue, WA. These teams play a vital role in ensuring a healthy technology environment for both our internal employees and external customers. As a member of this department, you will perform advanced troubleshooting and operational tasks to support the Chewy IT environment. You will be responsible for the management and improvement of all monitoring, alarming, ticketing tools, and documentation. These teams work with various teams across the organization to make their service more resilient against failures through applying common patterns and practices, and scale them up to keep up with the ever-increasing growth and demand. This includes facilitating resiliency testing, game day exercises and chaos testing to uncover risks and weaknesses before they lead to large scale production issues.
What you’ll do:
Enable engineering teams to make their services more reliable by identifying, creating, and deploying engineering practices, processes, and solutions.
Establish monitoring tools and management dashboards integrated into platforms with best practice notifications and response processes.
Improve availability, reliability, and observability of Chewy services and reduce the burden of human toil with tooling and automation.
Monitor the Chewy enterprise environment in a 24/7/365 operation that is constantly
available upon contact, and with availability to address alerts and incidents 100% of the
React to alerts by performing Tier 1 and Tier 2 operations depending on the issue.
Configure monitoring tools to include Datadog APM/Synthetic/RUM, AWS Cloudwatch,
Splunk and others for optimal observability of Chewy's E-comm environment.
Design, deploy, administer, monitor and enhance foundational Enterprise systems including technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file & print services, Microsoft 365, Email-related systems (Exchange, Mimecast), Microsoft Server, and patch management.
Administer Chewy’s robust Okta landscape, including curating Zones, Policies, and building SAML and OIDC integrations for 3rd-party SaaS and internal Chewy-built apps via the OIN or from scratch, including creating authorization servers with custom scopes and claims.
Collaborate with the IT Operations, Service Desk, IAM, Site Support, Information Security and other Enterprise Systems team members in the documentation and implementation of processes and procedures for software and hardware asset management for the enterprise system environments.
Assist the IAM Operations team and act as an escalation point and mentor.
What you’ll need:
Experience in an IT Operation Center, or similar environment.
Datadog, Splunk or similar system administration experience.
AWS Cloud infrastructure experience.
Industry experience in the development, customization, configuration, and deployment of Identity Management and Governance products (Saviynt or SailPoint).
Experience being responsible for designing, administering, and upgrading Active Directory.
Datadog, Splunk or similar system administration experience.
Experience with Infrastructure tools, container technology (Docker), public cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), configuration and deployment management (Terraform, Ansible), continuous delivery infrastructure (e.g., Jenkins) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Fargate).
Experience administrating Okta.
Compensation & Benefits:
Our salary range for a Infrastructure Engineer position is $115,500 - $183,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
