About Us

The “Avenue Bellevue” development is a newly constructed mixed-use hotel, retail & residence project "The Avenue" consisting of 365 luxury serviced condominium units in 2 towers opening Spring 2024, surrounded and in synergy with the 208 rooms and suite first class “InterContinental Hotel Bellevue”, convention center, several restaurants, 1,000-unit parking garage and extensive 100.000sf luxury retail space.

Your day to day

The Doorperson position is a highly visible role within the InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue and offers the opportunity to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction. This position reports to our Head Doorperson. The Doorperson is typically the first associate the guest comes in contact with and this initial interaction is vital to the guest's experience and setting a tone of luxury for their stay.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly:

  • Be stationed outside to provide our arriving guests with a warm welcome and our departing guests with a fond farewell to 5-Star standards.

  • Control the traffic flow in and out of the lobby.

  • Discreetly ascertain each guest’s name and once learned, greet each guest by name

  • Display a high sense of urgency and willingness to help, all while maintaining composure.

  • Direct guests to the Front Desk while acquainting them to the hotel, making mention of available services and facilities of the hotel.

  • Assist with loading and unloading luggage to and from guest vehicles.

  • Notify the Front Desk and Guest Services of VIP arrivals whenever possible.

  • Assist the Bell Person with all luggage storage and retrieval.

  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of hotel features and services, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count, room availability, scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times, and VIP guests.

  • Attend pre-shift meeting and review all information pertinent to the day's business.

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work area(s).

  • Ensure discretion for our guests and provide a crafted stay for each guest.

  • Provide shoeshine service.

  • Maintain the presentation standards of a 5-Star Lobby/Front Drive.

  • Have knowledge of directions, travel time, cost, and various forms of transportation.

  • Lay out safety signage in public areas and the front drive during extreme weather as well as laying out mats inside the entrance and providing umbrellas on the front drive.

  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.

What we need from you

What we need from you:

  • Service-focused personality with previous luxury customer service experience.

  • Luxury hotel or resort Doorperson experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of Bellevue and the surrounding Seattle area is a must.

  • Ability to take initiative in creating genuine connections with guests, residents, fellow colleagues, and community members in a personable, engaging, and intimate manner.

  • Ability to work and multi-task well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

  • Candidate must have excellent guest service, and communication skills.

  • Multilingual preferred.

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 80 lbs., including, but not limited to, luggage, guest items and bags on a regular and continuing basis.

  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 300 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

The salary range for this position is $19.00-$20.00/hour + tips.
