Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) Migration Specialist

Our client is seeking to contract with a highly motivated Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) Migration Specialist. The EDMS Migration Specialist will report to the EDMS and SQA Implementation Manager. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, a demonstrated commitment to excellence, flexibility as well as poise, confidence, and the ability to interface with co-workers in a professional, approachable, and positive manner. An understanding of nuclear quality assurance regulatory principles is also desirable. This position will work closely with IT, Records Management, Quality, Engineering, and other business support organizations to ensure the records migration process meets their requirements and is conducted in accordance with nuclear industry standards. This is not an IT database manager role.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in designing, planning and managing the nuclear records migration process

  • Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the migration plan

  • Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, collate, document and communicate migration requirements

  • Work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment

  • Work across multiple functional areas and projects to understand requirements and implications for the migration

  • Follow best practices, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out nuclear record migration activities

  • Work with IT in gathering technical requirements for migration needs

  • Share knowledge with team members and develop migration solutions efficiently

  • Perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping

  • Perform migration and testing of data from one core system to another

  • Assist in performing post migration verification & validation

  • Ensuring metadata is attached to documents by analyzing their content or working with knowledgeable owners or teams

  • Support the technical migration activities of all documents from legacy EDMS to a new EDMS repository by following established processes

    Key Qualifications

  • Associate degree.

  • Minimum three (3) years of records migration experience. Preference to experience in the nuclear energy industry is a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with NRC Regulatory Guides, ASME NQA?1, NIRMA technical guides is a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience in all areas of electronic document and metadata management, including configuration, identification, creation, use, retrieval, access, and retention.

  • Strong customer service skills and a desire to achieve results.

  • Advanced use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Experience in the use of databases and electronic file management software.

  • Skilled in setting priorities.

  • Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working with Agile or Omega Pims a plus.

  • The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

  • EDMS administrative experience including, configuration management and functional area setup is a plus.

  • Experience in software development lifecycle and the required documentation is also a plus.

  • Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.
