We’re fun, a little quirky, and always striving to get better (that’s where you come in). Currently we have ten hotels in six states, with plans to continue growing. If you want to be part of a far-from-stuffy company with lots of opportunities, this may be the place for you.

Who We’re Looking For:

Pineapple Hospitality Company is searching for a Director of Human Resources who will join our expanding team to provide high-level HR management and planning. Our ideal candidate will provide insight and depth to the existing HR functions while proactively adjusting for company growth.

What You Bring:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for implementing HR policies & programs, and managing all aspects of employee relations and development. Our Director of HR will manage staffing & recruiting, organizational development, performance management, training, compensation & benefits administration, and employee counseling services. Here are a few typical tasks that will keep you busy on a daily basis:

  1. Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, team-work, and high performance.

  2. Implement HR policies & programs as required by the business.

  3. Ensure job descriptions for all positions are accurate & up-to-date.

  4. Create organizational development and employee training programs.

  5. Conduct performance reviews with department managers & monitor employee productivity, attitudes, and performance results.

  6. Provide assistance with implementing any HR related software systems.

  7. Recruit and retain top quality staff for each department; conduct interviews.

  8. Employee counseling services for personal issues & company complaints.

  9. Build a Quality Assurance program that is tied to performance review process.

  10. Create compensation plans and provide administration for employee benefits.

  11. Maintain excellent facilities conducive to enhancing employee productivity.

  12. Provide company-wide communications & manage social committees.

  13. Develop a ‘Code of Conduct’ requiring professional behavior at all times.

  14. Ensure employee safety, wellness, welfare, health, and happiness.

  15. Ensure standard operating procedures for all positions are accurate & up-to-date.

Where You’ve Been:

We’re looking for someone with a BA/BS in Business, Hospitality Management, Human Resources or related field. A minimum of five years experience in a HR management position, preferably in the Hospitality Industry is required. You have exceptional interpersonal, leadership, project management and time management skills. The ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives is essential. You must have be able to develop new HR policies and programs based on business requirements. You must also have multi-state (especially California, Oregon, Washington), union and benefits experience. You should have a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

When You’re Here:

The hospitality business never sleeps (though our guests do quite well). To make sure everything runs smoothly around the clock you must be outstanding at time management, planning and organizing, decision-making and problem solving. You may have to work the occasional evening, weekend or holiday. Remote work is not available for this position. But there’s a great upside: In exchange for your hard work we offer excellent pay, hotel discounts, F&B discounts and the opportunity to be part of an anything-but-standard growing hotel company.
