Amazon Design Intelligence Analyst, Last Mile Engineering in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Amazon operates a world-class network of delivery stations across the globe. The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Team is responsible for the acquisition, design, construction, and management of all facilities in the Amazon Delivery Station Network. We are looking for a Business Analyst who is excited about data analysis and creating tools/solutions to join our WW Last Mile Design Team to support the launch and expansion of AMZL’s Delivery Station Network. This individual has experience in delivering results, ownership, and working backwards from their customers.

This Business Analyst has a talent and passion for leveraging data to solve business problems and drive process improvements for the Design Team. The individual will be responsible for creating tooling and reporting which supports day-to-day workflows as well as strategic planning for the network. As a Business Analyst, the individual will work closely with a range of internal customers/stakeholders which include Design Engineering, Program Management, Benchmarking, Business Intelligence, and Solutions Engineering. The individual should be proficient in working with large datasets, creating reports for leadership reviews, creating tools which leverage formulas and Excel commands (e.g. VBA), and have an interest in learning new technology and techniques to support product and process innovation.

In this role, you must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be an effective communicator, and be organized. Our business moves rapidly, and it’s important to be able to adapt to the latest changes in the business, systems, tools, and techniques for extracting, processing, analyzing, modeling, and taking action on data. You will work directly with business stakeholders to define strategy and requirements, and then lead analyses from design through delivery.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing and ad-hoc metrics, reports, and analyses, to drive key business decisions

  • Serve as the owner of key tools/solutions utilized by the team, owning the ongoing maintenance and data management

  • Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format

  • Partner with BIEs to scale automated solutions and collect stakeholder feedback to drive improvement over time

  • Learn new technology and techniques such that you can meaningfully support product and process innovation

  • Engage business stakeholder to convert business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data, scripting, and reporting/visualization

  • Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. BIE, Program Management, Managers) to deliver features/solutions for customers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, Operations, Finance, or related field

  • 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

  • 3+ years with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quicksight /Tableau or other BI packages

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business or analytical discipline

  • 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

  • 5+ years experience with Data Visualization tools (e.g. Quicksight, Tableau, PowerBI)

  • Prior experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management industry

  • Proficient in a programming language (e.g., Python) for automation of data extraction, processing, and computation

  • Experience working with low-code software tools, namely Quickbase

  • Experience working with AWS products and environment (e.g. S3, Redshift, and Lambda)

  • Experience in creating ETL pipelines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
