Amazon is seeking a motivated candidate to provide insights into opportunities for operational improvement through data analytics. Role will require data analysis, understanding of the systems workflow, cross-functional communication and issues management.The successful candidate is passionate about optimizing business processes and performance metrics, and takes a data-driven approach to identifying and prioritizing the most impactful efforts. This role will also build tools and support structures needed to analyze data, dive deep to determine root cause of system errors, network changes and performance issues. This role will need to present findings to business partners to drive improvements and prioritize customer needs to deliver the right results.Role Responsibilities:* Design and implement scalable and reliable approaches to support or automate decision making throughout the business.* Apply a range of data science techniques and tools combined with subject matter expertise to solve difficult business problems and cases in which the solution approach is unclear.* Build models using statistical modeling, mathematical modeling, econometric modeling, network modeling, natural language processing, machine learning algorithms, genetic algorithms, and neural networks.* Acquire data by building the necessary SQL / ETL queries.* Establish scalable efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation.* Analyze data for trends and input validity by inspecting univariate distributions, exploring bivariate relationships, constructing appropriate transformations, and tracking down the source and meaning of anomalies.* Validate models against alternative approaches, expected and observed outcome, and other business defined key performance indicators.* Implement models that comply with evaluations of the computational demands, accuracy, and reliability of the relevant ETL processes at various stages of production.* Build relationships with stakeholders and counterparts.* M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience. In lieu of the Master's degree, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.* Experience with big data: extraction, processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (100K to Millions of rows) of data.* Experience with data process: AWS technologies, SQL, and data pipelines* 2+ years of experience with statistical tools (e.g. R, python) and analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis.* 2+ years of experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C++, C#, Ruby)* 2+ years of experience in machine-learning packages (e.g. supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, random forest,..etc.)* Experience in building optimization model and simulation* Experience with clustered data processing (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Map-reduce, Hive)* Experience with ensemble models* Experience with agile or scrum methodology* Experience in communicating technically, at a level appropriate for the audience.* Ability to develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, use of strong baselines, ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations* Experience in creating data driven visualizations to describe an end-to-end systemAmazon offers competitive packages including comprehensive health care, 401(k), restricted stock units, growth potential and a challenging and exciting work environment.Amazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Women / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation / Age.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
