Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for new or for upgrading civil, mechanical and electrical infrastructure for water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelinesMonitor and document observations of construction progress as it progressesConduct or coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, pipeline pressure testing, asphalt, and performing in-place soil compaction testing for pipelines and roadways.Coordinate special inspections of masonry, reinforcement and field weldingProvide construction administration support including responding to RFIs, review of shop drawings, initial review of payment applications, schedule review and preparing meeting agendas and follow-up summary notes.Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documentsCollaborate with other field representatives and/or Project ManagersProvide guidance to less-experienced field staff as neededPerform other duties as neededQualificationsRequired QualificationsCompletion of technical/trade school or Associate degree6+ years of experienceExperience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong written communication skillsProven problem-solving and documentation abilitiesAbility to interpret construction schedulesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamThis position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testingAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred QualificationsIndustry CertificationsCertified Construction Manager certification is a plus*L1-PH1Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
