We are seeking a Category Manager to strategically source products and services within our Global Procurement Organization, Equipment Category with a focus on MHE (Material Handling Equipment). The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Amazon and will interact with our most important suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements. The position will work and partner with multiple teams to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, deliver savings and improve productivity across the category. You will work independently and with peers to generate high-quality work product in a collaborative, creative, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify, develop and deliver long term sourcing strategies, lead key initiatives with cross-functional teams; drive the decision making process of the category roadmap with senior leadership

• Drive commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance

• Lead supplier performance management; including improving sustainability & social responsibility

• Coordinate and collaborate with global/local teams to deploy and manage the implementation of your defined strategies

• Lead complex and cross-functional projects productivity, sustainability and innovations

• Identify, achieve and report on savings and value targets for category sourcing activities

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of supply chain experience

• 3+ years of program or project management experience

• 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

• 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

• Bachelor's degree

• Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

• 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

• Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

• Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
