Do you want to work on a dedicated team of three to create a growth engine and new commercialization model that emphasizes discovery and experimentation with customers? As part of a team of three, you will:

  • Help MSUS become the commercial vanguard by developing master discovery and validation muscle

  • Design a scalable way to discover our customers commercial truth

  • Build telemetry paths to validate or disqualify the MSFT point of view (POV) in a scalable way

As a collaborator and educator, you must have a strong passion for executing a vision. You must be empathetic, inquisitive, analytical and use these skills to educate and lead your discovery and validation work through the innovation journey. The role requires a high level of comfort navigating ambiguous and unregimented opportunities. The Growth Leader will support fast and iterative learning through rapid experimentation. You will drive the direction of the work while ensuring the quality of outcomes and the success of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and frame an opportunity area within a specific industry by creating an accepted hypothesis about where we will hunt for high-value businesses/problems to solve

  • Collect an inventory of MSFT’s intellectual property and capabilities to help us understand the as-is and develop insights and recommendations to ensure alignment to the problem we need to solve

  • Generate ideas with the industries ecosystem and synthesize findings, refine scope of the opportunity area, and ideate concepts for problem validation

  • Validate assumptions through rapid experimentation (responsible for design and execution) that test the most critical assumptions we have about the customer, their problem, and the solution

  • Create learning metrics to identify ‘signals’ that indicate whether we are driving toward commercial truths effectively and efficiently (based on answers, confidence, and evidence framework)

  • Evaluate the POV of solution options with real strategic customers/partners

  • Provide specific feedback on what part of the POV/solution works or doesn’t work [aka: telemetry/voice of customers]

  • Communicate like a startup on a regular basis; share learnings and investment asks to a board comprised of MSFT senior leadership

  • Support the development of scalable discovery and validation muscle; solving problems WITH customers/partners

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years equivalent experience in Financial Services Industry.

  • Ability to stay lean and fail fast

  • Strong bias for action and able to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity

  • Passion for collaboration and mobilizing internal teams toward ambitious goals and the desire to strategically organize team operations and processes.

  • Success leading teams through consumer experiments, including customer discovery, in-market testing and product/market fit.

  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills

  • Capable of strong individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams

  • Experience leading and executing programs and projects in a complex environment

  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence

  • Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications
