Description and Qualifications

The Employee Experience Specialist is responsible for directly impacting the LifeCenter Northwest (LifeCenter) employee experience and driving our values-based culture by collaborating across the People Resources (PR) and other business partner functions to deliver value-added services and programs to leaders and employees. The Employee Experience Specialist works closely with the Director, People Resources to build and maintain program infrastructure to support organizational leaders with employee engagement and retention strategies, initiatives and change management practices. The Employee Experience Specialist partners closely with PR colleagues to evolve work to support People Practices initiatives under LifeCenter’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program. The Employee Experience Specialist acts as an advocate, upholding organizational values and helping to foster a culture of inclusivity that supports the overall mission of LifeCenter Northwest.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Employee Engagement and Retention

  • Leads the employee pulse survey program to gather employee feedback regarding the employee experience.

  • Develops and manages the annual plan and quarterly survey cycle. Analyzes and reports on organizational feedback and insights and prepares materials as needed.

  • Partners closely with leaders on departmental feedback analysis to support timely and effective follow-up and action planning post-survey.

  • Further develops and manages the employee feedback program including the new hire 90-day check-in interviews and stay interview program.

  • Tracks trends and feedback and identifies areas where dissatisfaction/attrition could cause organizational risk.

  • Provides real-time insight to leadership, PRO team, and PR Director as applicable to collaborate to address concerns and ensure employees are set up for success in their work.

  • Acts as lead for ongoing employee engagement feedback process by collaborating with the Employee Relations Program Manager, People Resources Generalist and other internal colleagues to integrate all employee feedback collected through the pulse survey, exit interviews and stay interviews into the development of retention strategies, programs and initiatives.

  • Provides coaching and support for leaders in how to best acknowledge and respond to feedback received from their teams.

  • Manages, tracks, and reports on key turnover and retention metrics, including retention factors, and utilizes metrics to identify trends and to make recommendations.

  • Identifies organizational trends that should be highlighted or addressed and partners with PR Director on addressing any concerns.

  • Partners with leadership to develop and implement an employee engagement and retention plan for each department.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of engagement and retention programs and drives ongoing process improvement.

    Change Management Practices

  • Partners with the Director, PR to develop a more systematic approach to Change Management to support the stakeholder experience through continuous organization change and process improvement:

  • Develop a cross-functional Change Management cohort of business partners.

  • Identifies and launches an enterprise Change Management practitioner training for cohort members.

  • Build and implement a standardized change management planning tool that prioritizes the stakeholder experience.

  • Train, coach and advise leaders on the consistent application of Change Management practices.

  • The Employee Experience Specialist will centrally coordinate and lead the cohort to support ongoing operational process improvements with effective Change Management practices.

  • Collaborates closely with Internal Communications on employee messaging and PI&A on understanding Process Improvement initiatives.

    DEI People Practices

  • Champions LifeCenter’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and collaborates with other PR Colleagues to lead DEI People Practices work.

  • Drives organizational culture, and related initiatives, in line with the values of the organization.

  • Acts as a member of the cross-functional People Practices Workgroup and collaborates to project lead/coordinate the work of the cross-functional People Practices Workgroup.

    General Responsibilities

  • Build trusted and consultative relationships with leaders, cross-functional partners, and PR team members.

  • Builds relationships with team members at all levels of the organization and serves as an ambassador for team members to provide feedback about the employment experience.

  • Participate in the development, enhancements and roll out of people related programs, processes, and policies in alignment with business goals and objectives .

  • Partner closely with PRO team to create, deliver and implement process improvements, policies, procedures, and various other PRO initiatives. At times, may act as project manager for various PR projects and initiatives.

  • Collaborates with the People Resources Generalist and Internal Communications team to enhance employee recognition and appreciation programs across the organization.

    Supervision

  • This position has no formal supervisory responsibility. The position serves as an advisor and consultant for the organization and coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

    Other Responsibilities :

  • Participates in, and leads, employee committees and events.

  • Performs other related duties as required by the needs of the company and the leadership team.

  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.

  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.

  • Proven knowledge of practices related to employee engagement and retention strategies.

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and cross-functional project teams.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize work effectively.

  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills in order to recommend appropriate actions.

  • Excellent relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills, i.e., diplomacy, consideration, sensitivity, confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels.

  • Proven expertise in building and maintaining business partnerships through collaboration and consulting.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.

  • Strong working skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, Power Point, and other comparable software programs.

  • Experience working with a web-based survey system

    Physical Activities/Requirements

  • The individual must have the ability to communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the phone.

  • Travel requirements out of the general work area are infrequent.

  • This position requires the ability to effectively operate phones, computers, and other office equipment.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include reviewing material on and off screen.

  • Generally, working conditions do not require exposure to hazardous materials nor extremes in health and safety hazards. Work is normally performed in an office or hospital setting, as well as other business environments.

  • The employee is required to move up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.

    ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT

  • The duties of this position will typically require 37 hours per week. Because of the nature of this position, the incumbent may need to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, sometimes without advance notice.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of demonstrated work experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.

  • Relevant work experience can be considered and substituted for academic requirements.

  • PHR/SPHR designation, SHRM-CP or equivalent preferred

  • Progressive experience with

  • developing employee engagement and retention programs,

  • partnering cross-functionally to influence practices that support employees, and

  • providing advice and consult to leaders and employees regarding best practices to support the employee experience.

The pay range for this role is provided above. Where a candidate’s compensation falls within this range is based on several bona fide factors such as experience, tenure, and other specialized knowledge.
