Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer, R2L in Bellevue, Washington

Description

The Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) org is seeking an exemplary Business Intelligence Engineer with broad technical skills to develop data visualizations and build automation solutions that drive business decision making and process improvement.

The ideal candidate will draw upon advanced analytical, problem solving skills, and passion for delivering business insights and analytics.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Define and develop business critical metrics and reports across all business levers, key performance indicators, and financials.

  • Own key executive reports and metrics that are consumed by Amazon leadership

  • Provide thought leadership in business deep dives

  • Work closely with R2L Operations leadership to help them meet their objectives

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights and present written business recommendations to the leadership in a clear and compelling way

  • Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

  • Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
