Acara Solutions Business Development Director (Space) in Bellevue, Washington

Acara Solutions, one of the largest family-owned aerospace staffing firms in the U.S., is helping our Space client in Bellevue, WA find a Business Development Director. This is a salaried direct position with full benefits. Remote, hybrid or onsite is fine.Candidates must have aerospace and rocket launch services experience.Responsible for identifying, defining, qualifying and pursuing business opportunities meeting defined annual and quarterly bookings and sales targets.Continually analyze the company's competition and formulate plans to develop and maintain an advantageCreate business architecture models that reflect our strategies and goals, informed by competitive and market intelligenceTranslate company and customer requirements and strategy into a solution vision with high level specifications and a portfolio of implementations tasks.Candidates will be responsible for all elements of the sales process from early opportunity identification, lead development, market strategy, initial customer engagement, acquisition and contract closure. The Business Development Director will report to management on a weekly basis to provide pipeline status.Domestic and international travel to interface with the customer, attend meetings and trade shows is required (approximately 40%).Required Skills / Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (they may consider a candidate with an Associate's or trade's degree with additional related experience)Min 5 years of related experience with a strong background in aerospace and rocket launch servicesMin 5 years of commercial industry experience along with the following:- Experience within the smallsat satellite and/or launch industry- Including demonstrated experience developing and managing a sales pipeline, capturing large programs with lighthouse accounts, and growing backlog- Hands on experience in managing bid and proposal efforts- Work with internal stakeholders to capture and communicate customer requirements for on-going product improvementUp to 40% travel expected.This is an ITAR facility - U.S. Persons required (Green Card ok)Preferred Skills / Qualifications:Experience in presenting and selling to C-suiteHands on experience in managing bid and proposal effortsExperience in managing sales teamsA strong understanding of the small satellite launch industry, available launch vehicles, their capacity and performance is critical.Engineering/technical background, highly preferred.Ability to perform spacecraft/satellite and launch market assessments including gathering and processing competitive intelligence data;Experience selling technical products in the satellite or related industry;Demonstrated experience locating and proposing potential business deals, writing technical proposals, responding to commercial and/or government solicitation;Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating contracts and subcontracts; Demonstrated experience proactively engaging customers to draw out their needs and translating them into executable business and operational requirements, for the sake of clarity, candidates should be able to figure out what someone needs even if they can't describe it themselves and present their customer with creative solutions.Ability to develop technical sales/marketing material including brochures, datasheets, white papers, and customer briefings, deliver in a timely manner.Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct, and Aleron's strategic partner, SDI) are Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employers.
