Synchrony AVP, Portfolio Credit Home & Auto in BELLEVUE, Washington
In this role, you will support the growth and loss mitigation initiatives, in partnership with Credit Strategy teams and Client Development teams, within the HOME Portfolio. The responsibility includes credit and operational risk evaluation; delinquency, loss, and fraud mitigation; enforcement of credit policies; portfolio monitoring; input into deal structure and pricing; new program evaluation. This role will assume ownership of assignments, prioritize and drive projects to maintain a healthy risk-reward tradeoff, partner with and influence credit COE teams and cross functional leadership, and be a champion to bring the latest tools and innovation to the portfolio.
This position is eligible to work remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Work closely with Credit Leaders, Client Teams and Credit Strategy teams to provide data and analytics in support of profitable sales
Work closely with the client to minimize Synchrony’s and the client’s risk, while continuing to grow the portfolio
Work effectively cross-functionally to drive smart growth and client satisfaction
Prepare and present client facing and leadership team presentations to communicate credit performance and facilitate informed decisions
Assist in the development of enhanced strategies, using champion/challenger leanings to manage credit and fraud risk
Provide credit oversight and input in deal renewals, new deals and pricing processes; ensure portfolio deal structure and contract(s) are consistent with risk appetite
Maintain effective and credible challenge of critical decisions and business processes
Coordinate planning cycle with client teams to ensure consistency in business plans
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in credit, risk or analytics utilizing complex data skills; in lieu of a degree 6+ years' experience in credit, risk or analytics utilizing complex data
2+ years' experience with SAS, R or Python or other programming skills
Experience developing Consumer Credit Risk or Fraud Strategies
Strong influencing and presentation skills with the ability to interact with and present to all levels of the organization and external clients/partners
Experience using advanced modeling & data mining techniques (e.g., Machine learning, Big Data) to develop/ optimize Credit strategies
Experience analyzing large data sets to derive actionable credit and fraud insights
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 65,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD Annual
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
