POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Source Inspector. The Source Inspector performs the Quality Sourcer role as required by customers. Additionally, in all actions, they support Sonaca's Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other Sonaca policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive jobs from all outside processors and verify that all certification paperwork is correct for all aspects required (i.e. correct process was performed, paint thickness is acceptable per customer requirements, temper verification by processor proves acceptable, etc.)
  • Perform inspections and other support activities for jobs coming through Receiving
  • Be knowledgeable about and accurately complete all customer specific document requirements (purchase orders, engineering, etc.)
  • Interpret conductivity and hardness readiness Perform dimensional inspections to customer engineering
  • Perform Quality Sourcer role as required by customers
  • Be knowledgeable with customers part marking and packaging requirements and perform part markings as needed Read and interpret engineering drawings to verify that parts are identified properly and are dimensionally correct to customer requirements
  • Navigate and work within customer web portals
  • Provide a high level of customer service with outside customers
  • Be knowledgeable with all aspects of the Sonaca paperwork flow as it affects shipping
  • Be the main focal for quality questions from team members
  • Achieve and act in the role as "delegated authority" in the shipping area, supporting Sonaca's quality system
  • Support Supervisor in achieving short and long term vision and goals
  • Assist Supervisor in all facets of supporting the team
  • All duties as assigned by the Supervisor and or other members of the management team
  • To know, understand and follow all job tools available and applicable to the job and the plant including QAP's, SP's, work instructions, etc

     

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • Demonstrated decision-making ability utilizing good judgment in determining the appropriate guideline, procedure, and application to utilize in solving problems
  • Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of process flows, lead times and lean principles in a mfg. environment
  • Ability to use measuring tools to perform job duties Ability to work closely with others as a functioning team member

     

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
