Orion Industries Sheet Metal Technician w/CNC Router experience - 2nd shift in Auburn, Washington

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Process product using equipment such as: shear, blanking press, turret press, CNC router, manual router, CNC press brake, and other equipment.
  2. Meet safety and quality system requirements by following established procedures including:
  • Using required personal protective equipment.
  • Following safety instructions for materials, equipment, and work area.
  • Ensuring all equipment guards, safety switches and controls are in place and functioning.
  • Obtain work orders, read work instructions, and apply.
  • Ensuring traceability requirements are met and reviewing inspection documents and requirements.
  1. Process work within performance and delivery requirements:
  • Meet established productivity standards.
  • Follow communicated job priority instructions.
  • Communicate production delays and problems to appropriate supervision.
  1. Teamwork:
  • Support all members of the manufacturing and Orion team fully to achieve company, departmental, and personal goals, and objectives.
  • Willing to cross train on multiple machines.  
  • Offers support to the Orion Mission.  
  • Role model proper work ethics, behaviors, hygiene and dress.
  • Reliably shows up on time for regularly scheduled shift.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous CNC Router experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work Monday - Thursday, 3:25 p.m. to 1:55 a.m. 
  • Experience utilizing various sheet metal machines and processes.
  • Familiar with reading engineering drawings and specifications (Boeing engineering drawings a plus).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Organizational ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collectively.
  • Communication and teamwork skills; able to relate well to all internal and external customers.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material.
  • Frequent use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and spatial relationship.

  • Frequent lifting of 5 or 10 pounds, with occasional lifting to 35 pounds.
  • Consistent exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of Safety Glasses.
  • Frequent exposure to excess noise levels, necessitating the use of Hearing Protection.
