Material Handler

Pay: $20.20/Hour

Location: Auburn, WA

Shift: 4AM-2PM

Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Material Handler to accurately provide inventory information for company-controlled material stock. You will monitor, organize, and maintain inventory of company products at multiple branch locations while working alongside a diverse group of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts, order pickers, and side-loader forklifts.

• Conduct inventory control and cycle counting duties.

• Enter inventory data into a computer system.

• Record data manually using a clipboard.

• Load and unload metal materials (raw materials) both manually and with a forklift.

• Complete material receiving activities for shipments between locations or direct from the mill.

• Coordinate movement of material from stock to processing to support production requirements.

• Operate material handling equipment as necessary to support movement of material.

• Perform accurate and timely data entry within the inventory management system regarding material movements.

• Prepare and maintain appropriate inventory identification tags.

• Complete material consolidation tasks, including supermarket.

• Identify material shortages and issues, and communicate to appropriate staff.

• Perform verification of scrap.

• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.

• Assist the quality assurance team in activities related to credits.

• Perform equipment preventative maintenance and clean-up.

Essential Skills

• Ability and experience operating a sit-down forklift.

• Strong attendance and work history with regards to tenure.

• Proficiency in inventory control and data entry.

• Experience with operating various forklifts and material handling equipment.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse setting.

• Proficiency with computers and inventory management systems.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a large raw material supplier facility where materials are stored, cut, and shipped to customers. The environment is fast-paced, with over 60 employees on the floor. Shifts vary, including Monday-Thursday 4am-2:30pm, 1st Shift: 4am-12:30pm Mon-Fri, and 3rd Shift: 4am-2:30pm Fri-Mon.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.20 - $20.20/hr.
