Muckleshoot Indian Tribe Lead YRH Behavioral Specialist ($67,989 - $108,786) in Auburn, Washington
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position leads the YRH Behavioral Specialists and provides social service assistance in support of the Sacred House FYS youth residential home. Liaison between management and BH Specialists.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist supervisors in ensuring adequate staffing of Sacred House. Ensure coverage due to planned and unplanned staff absences.
Assist Behavioral Specialists’ understanding of Sacred House policies and procedures.
Check and order inventory of office and program supplies.
Assist in compiling and tracking program vehicle mileage.
Work with the Sacred House management in compiling reports and data.
Collaborate with Sacred House management in planning events and activities.
Work with external agencies such as schools, employers, Muckleshoot Child & Family Services (MCFS), the court system, treatment providers, etc. to assist residents in meeting their goals.
Inform clients of available services and refer to appropriate service provider or community resource; assist
clients by filling out forms and advocating or intervening on their behalf, if necessary.
Transport and/or accompany clients to obtain medical, chemical dependency, mental health treatment, and/or other required services.
Provide education and activities to residents to promote positive social skills, independent living skills, and healthy peer relationships.
Organize and participates in community events; attends various committee meetings.
Maintain confidential files and records.
Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all protected health information in accordance with the Division’s Policies and Procedures, and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Because of the Tribe’s commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related behavioral science discipline from an accredited college or university.
Four (4) years of youth residential treatment experience.
OR
Eight (8) years total experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
Training in childhood development, social services, child psychology, conflict resolution, behavior modification, milieu treatment, and chemical dependency
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Skilled In:
Behavior modification techniques. Conflict resolution. Communicating in both oral and written forms. Advocating for residents’ needs. Developing documents, recording data, researching, and communicating with other staff.
Knowledge of:
Childhood development models and child psychology. Milieu treatment and behavior modification techniques. Conflict resolution with adolescents. Native American culture and how culture pertains to treatment. Social service systems.
Ability to:
Remain calm in a crisis. Give oral presentations effectively. Develop resident plans to identify their goals and track progress.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
Licenses or Certifications Required
A valid Washington State driver’s license is required at time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
