ABOUT THE POSITION: The Housing Case Manager provides trauma-informed services to individual program participants, many of whom have multiple barriers (i.e., mental health, substance use disorder, chronic health conditions, frequent contact with law enforcement, etc.), so that secure, stable, and permanent housing may be achieved and/or maintained. This service includes assessment, documentation, information and referral, goal setting, direct advocacy, cooperative case planning, and coordination of services. The Case Manager assists and empowers participants to make necessary connection with the community and providers to stabilize and improve the quality of their lives. This is a unionized position, represented by Local 8 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU)..
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Located in Auburn, WA, Don's Place is a hybrid housing program combining aspects of both Compass' enhanced shelter and permanent supportive housing programs. It provides non-time limited emergency housing with 24/7 supportive services for adults and couples. Referrals for program participants will be received from Coordinated Entry for All (CEA) and the local Auburn community. In addition to supportive services, participants have access to daily meals, 24/7 staffing support, laundry, and other resources including referrals to medical and mental health services and other benefits to assist in addressing any barriers to long-term, stable housing.
LOCATION: *Near Emerald Downs (Auburn, WA) *REPORTS TO: *Program Manager *FLSA STATUS: *Non-Exempt *SCHEDULE: Sunday-Thursday 10am-6:00pm; with monthly staffing meetings on 4th Thursday 8-10:30am and weekly case management meetings on Wednesdays 1-3pm SALARY RANGE: $26.36 per hour (Level 1) FULL TIME BENEFITS INCLUDE: Unlimited Orca Transportation Pass, Medical/Prescription/Vision, Dental, $500 Health Flexible Spending Account 4 Weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO) & 11 Paid Holidays, Retirement Plan, Employee Assistance Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work experience and education are both evaluated in determining the likelihood of success in this role.
A minimum of 2-years' experience in a social/human service setting related to housing and homelessness, required.
Experience and education that demonstrates competency in and awareness of equity, intersectionality and belonging is essential. As well as a familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault and/or domestic violence, required.
Experience working in an environment where language may be a barrier, desired.
