Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are a distribution center in Auburn that transports a variety of products, including ATVs, gas, food, and beverages, to Alaska throughout the year. We are seeking Warehouse candidates with at least 1-2 years of sit-down forklift experience. Candidates must be detail-oriented and capable of reading bill of ladings to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of materials to the correct trucks. Accuracy is crucial as errors can lead to significant costs. Applicants must be open to some heavy lifting, up to 75 lbs, for heavier materials such as carpets, which will be team-lifted.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials safely.

• Read and interpret bill of ladings.

• Ensure materials are loaded onto the correct trucks.

• Perform heavy lifting up to 75 lbs, with team lifting for heavier items.

• Maintain a high level of safety and awareness on the warehouse floor.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of sit-down forklift experience.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret bill of ladings.

• Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 75 lbs.

• Experience in material handling and warehouse operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and warehouse environments.

You will start in a secondary loading dock area with guidance from a lead for a month before transitioning to the live loading dock area once you are ready. Work Environment

The warehouse has receiving doors on both sides of the building, making it cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The facility is extremely clean and organized, with a live loading dock area and a secondary loading dock area for reserve materials. There are about 30-40 forklifts in the building, and the team moves at a fast pace. Candidates must focus on safety and be vigilant at all times to ensure a safe working environment. Shifts run from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime on Wednesdays and Fridays until 7:00 or 8:00 PM. Start times for shifts include 4:00 AM, 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, and 10:30 AM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
