Diesel Technician / Mechanic

The Truck Shop is a division of Small & Sons Oil -- a local, family-owned company based in Auburn, WA. which has been in business for more than 60 years. We are a busy commercial truck dealership which is growing quickly! Our shop is looking for an experienced Diesel Technician/Mechanic. We take care of both truck fleets and independent truck drivers. We offer a variety of repairs on different vehicles - from Heavy Duty trucks such as Western Star, Detroit Engines, Cummins Engines, Allison Transmissions to Medium Duty Hino's and Mitsubishi Fuso's etc.

Job Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years experience working as a diesel technician/mechanic
  • Strong Electrical and Emission/Aftertreatment Diagnostic Skills required
  • Able to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, trailers
  • Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical, suspension, differentials, transmissions and various repairs
  • Must have your own tools and toolbox
  • Ability to use computer for diagnostic purposes
  • Work well independently and as part of a team
  • Able to accurately document repair process and procedure
  • Maintain clean, organized work space
  • Must possess a valid driver license. (CDL a plus but not required)
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally: Lift (up to 50lbs)
  • Frequently: stand, walk, bend, climb (to reach parts of equipment)
  • Frequently: grasp, hold, manipulate hand tools and power tools using hands/arms
  • Frequently: work inside various types of vehicles and equipment
  • Occasionally: be exposed to hazardous chemicals, equipment, conditions
  • Occasionally: be exposed to a variety of sounds and lighting conditions

Schedule: We have several openings on both day shift and 2nd shift.  Day shift is 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday.  2nd shift is 3pm - mid (Mon - Thurs) 2pm - 11pm on Friday. Salary: $25 - $45 per hour depending on experience
