Aston Carter Aerospace Purchasing / Procurement Assistant in Auburn, Washington

Aerospace manufacturing company in Auburn, WA is looking for a Purchasing Assistant.

Pay: $26/hr. - $30/hr. (Depending on overall review of qualifications)

Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST)

Location: Fully Onsite in Auburn, WA

6 Months Contract-To-Hire

(Responsibilities)

• Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of raw materials, parts, supplies, outside services and tools.

• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.

• Finds new qualified suppliers and sources for products and services.

• Prepares purchase orders.

• Maintains computerized procurement records such as items or services purchases, costs and delivery.

• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, vendors and others to determine source of trouble and takes corrective action.

• Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries and non-conforming product.

• Compares prices, specifications and lead times.

• Monitors material availability in inventory on a daily basis and replenishes inventory as needed.

• Daily monitoring & management of MRP requirements.

• Assist the Run-1 purchasing function, including but not limited to: research, supplier reporting, and transactions related to materials, tooling, equipment, and other supplies required for first run parts.

• Analyze and work Grief and Expedite reports weekly.

• Read and understand Customer supplied drawings and specifications.

• Assist in the development of procurement solutions to best support customer requirements consistent with program and company goals and objectives.

• Responsible for conforming to the company's quality system procedures as documented

(Job Requirements)

Considering local candidates only as there is no relocation offered at this time

  • 3-5 years of experience within procurement / supply chain

  • Must have current or recent prior manufacturing environment work experience (bonus for Aerospace manufacturing environment experience)

  • MRP experience is a must have

  • Experience engaging with other vendors

  • Experience with Purchase Orders

  • Ability to read and interpret Aerospace drawings and specifications (highly considered)

Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
