This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, comprising Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the assembly and development of Rocket Engine components as part of the Casting operation, located at 18410 63rd Ave NE | Arlington, WA 98223. Your expertise will also drive improvements in rocket engine components design, maintenance, and refurbishment. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequences and schedules. As an integral member of the team, you will support DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test and accelerate the pace of rocket engine development. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable human spaceflight. Special Mentions: Relocation provided Shifts available M-F Weeknights (3:30 PM- 11:30 PM) Work schedule may vary and depend on hardware and production demands Remain flexible by working overtime and weekends (when necessary) Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare plastic patterns to become metal castings using wax, glue, and common hand and inspection tools Test completed patterns for quality and compliance before shell application Interpret and provide feedback to digital instruction on how to complete the above tasks, with an emphasis on continuous improvement. Help maintain inventory of tooling and equipment Safely work with hazardous systems, chemicals, and materials using the proper PPE Identify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods (or refine existing ones) to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize the build schedule Support DFMEA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test Support the development of manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing process: receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment Identify non-conformances and escapes, support and deploy corrective actions Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process Other responsibilities as assigned Minimum Qualifications 1+ years of direct manufacturing experience Experience reading and understanding specifications and detailed work instructions Basic computer skills Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
