As a part of Undiscovered and Small Business Growth Accelerator (USBA), Amazon has committed $150 million to empower Black entrepreneurs through the Black Business Accelerator (BBA), which provides access to educational, financial and advisory resources that support Black-owned business owners succeed as sellers in Amazon’s store. We need a Sr Program Manager who is able to apply their customer obsession towards financial products that support Amazon's Black Business Accelerator. Your work will directly help build sustainable growth for Black-owned businesses by enabling their success as sellers.

We are seeking an experienced program manager who understands the importance of access to capital for underrepresented communities and is a high-judgment, business oriented and self-motivated professional. This role will work closely with internal teams to identify financial literacy and inclusion opportunities and deliver unique resources and/or benefits for businesses within Undiscovered and Small Business Growth Accelerator (USBA). The role will also work cross-functionally with internal programs and services, teams across Amazon globally and external partners. This is a very impactful role for sellers and will require the candidate to work closely with leadership across the company to propel financial inclusion initiatives designed to support and amplify business growth of Black and other underrepresented communities.

The ideal candidate is motivated, organized, embraces ambiguity and highly collaborative. The candidate will think big to deliver new ideas and creative approaches to constantly enhance the financial and business acumen of USBA participants and will also work closely with the PM, Strategic Capital to ensure our financial products like grants and credits are paired with education and support. They will think strategically about how to develop and report metrics and KPIs that will inform improvements of current and future products and initiatives. The candidate embraces ambiguity, ramps up quickly on complex issues. They will utilize their attention to detail, experience in program management, and excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create a financial literacy and inclusion strategy to increase USBA business finance knowledge and advance growth opportunities for BBA and small business community members

  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders to identify, drive and scale financial literacy to benefit Black and undiscovered business owners

  • Drive a pan-Amazon group focused on financial inclusion to collaborate and develop relevant financial products

  • Create, optimize and drive adoption of critical mechanisms required to ensure long term expansion and success of a financial literacy program

  • Track and report learnings and effectiveness to internal stakeholders

  • Work with partner team to develop and report metrics and KPIs that will inform improvements

  • Represent, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, tough trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders to help them understand the decisions they have to make and what options they have

  • Look around corners to sport emerging issues and proactively lead the development and execution of new opportunities

  • Drive cross-functional and cross-regional alignment to achieve strategic capital goals

About the team

Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator (BBA) supports Black-owned businesses to build sustainable growth by explicitly targeting barriers to access, opportunity, and advancement created by societal and historical imbalances. The program helps Black business owners grow their business with access to financial support, strategic business guidance, mentorship, and marketing and promotional support.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or Master's degree

  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with non-tech teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
