Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with a proven track record to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery according to specific instructions, ensuring quality performance, and maintaining equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of schematics, pneumatics, and mechanical inclination.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate machines according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
Read schematics, pneumatics, and demonstrate mechanical inclination.
Prepare work orders and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
Select, place, and secure tools and parts of the equipment in proper positions.
Prepare fixtures and feeding devices, start machines, and engage feed.
Observe each machine to verify quality performance.
Verify measuring instruments such as rulers and calipers are in proper working order.
Set and adjust necessary controls to regulate operations.
Sharpen tools with a bench grinder as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Handle preventative maintenance tasks.
Train extruder technicians.
Create documentation and specifications for machine settings (HACCP).
Pay & Schedule :
$26-27/hr
Day Shift : 7:00AM - 3:30PM (Monday - Friday)
Swing Shift : 2:30PM - 11:30PM (Monday - Friday)
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a machine operator (5 years).
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
Proficiency in English (speaking and reading).
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for 5-7 hours daily.
Willingness to work weekends (Saturday) for Preventative Maintenance at least once a month.
Understanding of production procedures.
Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear, PPE).
Ability to work with other departments and follow guidelines.
Ability to read and follow SOPs and manuals.
Analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with diverse ethnicities.
Proficiency in driving a forklift and scissor lift (training available in-house).
Knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, and other machining equipment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Physical stamina and strength.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Extrusion process and machine operation.
Experience with plastic production and mold assembly.
Manual machining and production scheduling.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $56160.00
