Blue Origin LLC Manufacturing Engineer II - Castings Modeling & Development (R39427) in Arlington, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the design, assembly and development of Rocket Engine components as part of the Casting operation, located at 18410 63rd Ave NE | Arlington, WA 98223. Your expertise will also drive improvements for rocket engine component's design, maintenance, and refurbishment. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules. As an integral member of the team, you will support DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test and accelerate the pace of rocket engine development. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable human spaceflight. Special Mentions: Relocation provided Work schedule: Weekdays Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Proficient in CAD software, either Creo, Solidworks, or Catia/Unigraphics with the ability to cross-train in others Solidification Modeling, specifically use of Pro-Cast or Magma, as it applies to casting development and refinement Developing routings and instructions for processing of components Collaborative interaction with colleagues processing the parts Providing engineering support to operations as needed (Safety, Quality, and Rate) Safely work with hazardous systems, chemicals, and materials using the proper PPE Identify, develop, and deploy new manufacturing methods (or refine existing) to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build schedule Support DFMEA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test Identify non-conformances and escapes, support and deploy corrective actions Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Mechanical or Material Science preferred. 5+ years of relevant Casting Experience Experience or a deep interest in Solidification Modeling software, specifically Pro-Cast or Magma, as it applies to casting development and refinement Experience developing routings and instructions for processing of components Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
