Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Machine Operator to join our team. You will oversee and train extruder technicians on your shift, and fill in as an Operator during time off. This role requires a strong understanding of production procedures and the ability to adhere to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train extruder technicians on your shift.

  • Fill in as an Extruder Operator during time off.

  • Set up and operate machines according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.

  • Read schematics, pneumatics, and be mechanically inclined.

  • Prepare work orders and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.

  • Select, place, and secure tools.

  • Place and secure parts of the equipment in the proper place.

  • Prepare fixtures and feeding devices, start machines, and engage feed.

  • Observe each machine to verify quality performance.

  • Verify measuring instruments such as rulers and calipers are in proper working order.

  • Set and adjust necessary controls to regulate operations.

  • Sharpen tools with bench grinder as needed.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Handle preventative maintenance.

  • Create documentation and specifications for machine settings (HACCP).

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a machine operator.

  • Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.

  • Proficient in English (speaking and reading).

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for 5-7 hours each day.

  • Willingness to work weekends (Saturday) for Preventative Maintenance at least once a month.

  • Strong understanding of production procedures.

  • Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear, PPE).

  • Ability to work with other departments and follow guidelines.

  • Ability to read and follow SOPs and manuals.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to drive a forklift and scissor lift (training available in-house).

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and other machining equipment.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Physical stamina and strength.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.

Work Environment

The role requires standing, walking, and bending for 5-7 hours each day. You must be willing to work weekends (Saturday) for Preventative Maintenance at least once a month. Adherence to health and safety regulations, including the constant use of protective gear (PPE), is mandatory. You will work with diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools, and must be capable of lifting 75 lbs. The ability to drive a forklift and scissor lift is required, with training available in-house. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and other machining equipment is also necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $56160.00
