Basic FunctionHF Sinclair in Anacortes, WA is seeking a Reliability & Data Engineer. This position is responsible to maximize site reliability through the use of technology and application of engineering fundamentals. The Reliability & Data Engineer leads interdisciplinary teams to proactively devise and implement sustainable, systemic solutions for operational and technical issues. The Reliability & Data Engineer works closely with individuals from all engineering disciplines, crafts, and operators in order to lead sustainable & proactive defect elimination.Job DutiesESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)Uses common engineering concepts in a particular field to perform projects, and assignments for the engineering department and exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteriaResolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements), and solves technical problems related to projects, troubleshoots and updates report data for business unit(s) depending on assignmentThe Reliability & Data Engineer has Responsibility, Accountability and Authority to:Implement and sustain the Reliability Management Framework for the site.Facilitate the Manage Threats and Opportunities work process to assure the identification, prioritization, and mitigation of reliability threats & events.Lead the Reliability Centered Maintenance work process to assure that we are maintaining our assets and reducing our overall risk.Automate and analyze refinery reliability performance data and reliability metric data. for Reliability Steering Team, Production Teams and off-site reporting.Serve as the Area Focal Point and Facilitator for Production Teams.Support the Operator Task Management and IntelaTrac system to improve site reliability performance.Drive site to proactive approach on defect elimination and latent threat identification.Drives the high reliability organization principles at the site with balance of effort on people, processes, and technology.Facilitation of the development of Reliability Improvement Plans.Facilitate and maintain the 10-Year Capital, Operating Expense, and Non-Routine Maintenance Plans for Production Teams.Facilitate Enhanced Prob Solving Teams using Causal Learning SkillsSupport other disciplines in periods of high work loads such as outages.May be required to do some or all of the following:Recommend and implement improvements and/or modification in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related mattersUpgrade, design, configure, maintain and monitor related equipment and performanceAnalyze related components and systems, processes and methods, and refinery processes and economicsDevelop project scopes, budgets and AFE's for approval and ensure projects meet budget as well as refinery and OSHA standardsOptimize business unit(s) and analyze data to aid operations with decisions, ensuring maintenance and integrity of business unit(s) dataReview outside vendors proposals regarding purchase of new, or modernization of existing, processing equipmentImprove profitability of the refineryAct as a liaison between the company and county and state agenciesSpecial assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretionExperienceA minimum of 4 years of progressive work experience in engineering, computer science or data science disciplines. Preferred ExperienceRegistration as a Professional Engineer Refinery or Petrochemical industry experienceExperience supporting an asset as an engineer in o
