Optum Medical Assistant Anacortes and La Conner in Anacortes, Washington

Our Primary Care departments are seeking Medical Assistants to join their teams for part time and full time positions in Anacortes and La Conner.

Schedule:

  • Anacortes - 40 hour full time position, with options for four 10 hour shifts or five 8 hours shifts.

  • La Conner - 20 hour part time position, with shifts likely in the afternoon.

The Medical Assistant functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible for providing assistance to patients, and nursing staff with direct and indirect patient care, ensuring smooth work and patient flow within the department. May work on an On-Call basis to cover for absences on the weekend.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for and not limited to:

  • Delivering high quality patient care through face-to-face, telephone and electronic contact with for the purpose of examination, treatment, monitoring, and preparation for diagnostic tests or procedure.

  • Notifying the RN and/or provider immediately in situations where the patient is unstable or requires urgent or emergent care.

  • Assisting with care under the direct supervision of the RN and provider.

Preferred Experience and Credentials:

  • Active Interim or Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C) through the Washington State Department of Health.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (through the American Heart Association).

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response ( i.e. entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking order.
