Matrix Service Field Safety Rep in Anacortes, Washington

DescriptionJob Summary: The Safety Rep is primarily responsible for administration of project safety, Accountability Programs, Accident and Fire Protection Programs, Risk Management issues, and maintaining full compliance with Company, Client and Provincial/Federal safety regulations, and drug and alcohol policies. Document control activities, providing safety policy guidance, and training and accountability for specific projects. Essential Functions: Actively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values." Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics." Manages employee training files, to include updating files, organizing files, and pulling data from files, as needed. Collects employee training data, including receiving completed training documentation from Corporate and client trainers, entering data into UltiPro, and filing hard copy of training documentation into file. Updates operations of completed training, keeps operations training binder updated, and notifies operations and trainer of employees needing training prior to non-compliance. Distributes drug and alcohol testing notifications to operations, monitors drug testing compliance, and removes and adds employees to Matrix's pool, as needed. Tracks and trends field safety audits. Creates graphs, charts, and reports, as needed. Tracks and trends employee observation cards. Sorts and files all safety-related paperwork from the field. Coordinates and follows up with clients to verify completion of medical requirements. Ensures respiratory compliance letters, hearing tests, and fit tests are completed. Performs additional duties, as directed. Qualifications: Strong safety experience in aboveground tank construction/maintenance. Completion of Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification or similar preferred. Strong knowledge/understanding of Stop Work Authority. Completion of OSHA 30 certification. TWIC Card required at time of hire. Previous experience maintaining document control procedures, as well as knowledge of recordkeeping procedures. Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database experience preferred. Strong detail orientation and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and customers. Ability to work well under pressure and keep a positive attitude. Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak in group settings and deliver presentations. Ability to maintain confidentiality a must. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.
