Cambia Health Solutions Litigation Paralegal in Ahtanum, Washington

Litigation ParalegalThe position can be in our four Cambia states - OR, WA, ID or UTAt Cambia, our members need us more than ever, and to continue serving them, we need to be vaccinated. Following federal mandate, all Cambia Health Solutions employees, including 100% remote workers, need to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by 1/1/22.The Litigation Paralegal contributes to the effective management of business transactions and litigation matters by providing high-level paralegal services to Cambia attorneys.Responsibilities:* Maintains databases and other information repositories relating to business transactions and litigation case status and deadlines.* Assists in-house attorneys in preparing litigation reports and other legal documents.* Performs individual litigation case management support services, including preparation of intake forms, collection of case background information, identification and preliminary interviews of internal fact witnesses, scheduling of witness interviews and depositions, preparation of initial case background memorandum, preparation of discovery requests and responses and completion of litigation case closed matter report.* Routinely communicates with Cambia personnel and outside counsel and/or their employees regarding the status of cases.* Receives, tracks and facilitates Regence's subpoena responses.* Investigates and responds to state insurance division complaints and inquiries.* Addresses legal inquiries personally and responds to requests for information, with input from supervisor, as necessary.* Prioritizes assignments.* Performs word processing and document editing procedures.* Performs photocopying and document control activities.* Performs special projects and duties as assigned by in-house attorneys and approved by supervisor.* Proofreads legal documents for spelling, grammar and substance to ensure they are error free.* Provides back-up assistance to other paralegals and Insurance Inquiry Specialists.* Ability to work independently on assignments and proactively identify issues and solutions.* Clear and concise communicator with both internal and external business partners.* Exercises greater independent judgement.* Can prepare initial draft of correspondence to opposing counsel and help revise court documents.* Anticipates steps needed to work up a file and help to formulate a resolution strategy.Minimum Requirements:* Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.* Knowledge of simple mathematics, grammar and techniques of business and legal composition.* Use of standard office equipment including telephone, personal computer, facsimile machine, calculator, copier/scanner.* Proficiency in Windows PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, Outlook, Excel, Office 360, One Note, Skype, Adobe..* Knowledge of legal terminology and court rules in each jurisdiction within which Cambia operates.* Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and discretion in confidential and sensitive matters.* Ability to identify and prioritize workload, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.* Ability to organize information and communicate both orally and in writing with outside attorneys and executives and all levels of employees and management.* Must be able to work with minimal supervision and assume increasingly complex responsibilities.Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed aboveCollege degree and/or paralegal program certificate and 5-7 years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm or equivalent combination of education and experience.We are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer dedicated to workforce diversity and a
