Second Shift Mechanic

Brumfield Construction, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Second Shift Mechanic to join our team. This position is located at our Aberdeen Shop location -- 2007 Westport Road Aberdeen, WA 98520.

Our ideal candidate has 2 or more years of experience diagnosing & repairing trucks and heavy construction equipment.  They can stoop, bend, and reach to use tools for repairs. This job may operate outside in inclement weather and requires excellent attention to detail.

We have been in business for over 45 years and are locally owned and operated. Although based in Grays Harbor, our projects span over several counties in Western WA.  We provide both commercial and residential services across several industries.

  • Full-Time, Year- Round employment.
  • Tuesday -- Saturday 2:00 pm -- 10:00 pm
  • Compensation $28 - $36 per hour depending on experience.

*     Principal Duties and Responsibilities:*

  • Analyzing and diagnosing (troubleshooting) equipment malfunctions or failures.
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks on all makes and models of heavy equipment.
  • Repairing, replacing and/or rebuilding engines, transmissions, final drives, steering, clutches, hydraulic components, electrical systems, and air systems.
  • Welding and fabrication as required.
  • Determining correct parts needed to complete the task and order in a timely matter.
  • Communicating in an effective manner regarding all aspects of the work being performed.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-years' experience.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must possess valid WA driver's license -- CDL is a plus.
  • Must be able to take and follow direction.
  • Occasionally lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be dependable, honest, hard-working and a team player.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and is contingent on a successful pre-employment drug and background screen.
  • Positions which require driving company vehicles are also contingent on an acceptable driving record.
