JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bookkeeper is responsible for processing the day-to-day financial transactions of the company, including banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting tasks. The role requires proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and familiarity with our industry-specific inventory management software. The Bookkeeper will also cross-train on counter sales and purchasing to support other office functions as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping

  • Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and process payroll and maintain employee records.
  • Receive mail and deposit payment receipts.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions.

Office Support

  • Cross-train and assist with counter sales, including handling customer inquiries and orders.
  • Support purchasing functions by managing vendor communication and order placement.
  • Contribute to a collaborative office environment by assisting team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a wholesale, distribution, or related industry.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Understanding of bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a variety of responsibilities in a small office setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in customer service or sales support.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and inventory processes.
  • Construction industry experience helpful.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere.
  • 3/4 to full-time position with competitive compensation based on experience.
