Summary of Duties:

 

Here is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Lab Preceptor who is eager to enhance their career by joining the College of Nursing to provide clinical skills guidance to prelicensure nursing students in the clinical performance laboratory. Preceptors provide basic skills instruction and assessment of critical thinking and psychomotor skills development needed to intervene safely and competently in the clinical care of individuals and families.

 

This position is located in Yakima, WA.

 

This is a 10-month, .50 FTE position.

 

Essential Duties:

 

• Practice Lab Coordination/ Supervision - 50%

• Laboratory and Equipment Maintenance - 20%

• Faculty Assistance - 15%

• Simulation - 10%

• Other - 5%

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years experience directly relating to the duties and responsibilities specified.

 

Additional Requirements:

 

• Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in State of Washington, or ability to obtain licensure by time of hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• One year acute care experience.

• Experience teaching or precepting.

• Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies

Monthly Salary: $1,950.00 - $2,806.74 (pro-rated at .50 FTE); commensurate with qualifications and experience

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
