INDUSTRIAL SALES / TECHNICAL / MECHANICAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Generates revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders; understanding and interpreting technical requirements; providing technical information; developing accounts. * This is a universal position, performing a variety of duties to support the business ( to include; Inventory, Inventory control, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales) * Responsible for providing sales support * Utilize both excellent mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication) and electrical/electronics skills and knowledge (A/C, D/C, motors and drives, schematics) * Work with customers to troubleshoot and solve problems and on-site work * Ordering parts for replacement or repair using catalogs and manuals * Work under the guidelines of Maintenance Mechanic "A", Leadman or Foreman and may direct or coordinate maintenance helpers * Employer is willing to assist with relocation expenses * Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities. * Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; preparing quotations. * Closes new accounts by answering telephone, fax, and e-mail inquiries; verifying and entering information. * Fills orders by transferring orders to fulfillment; communicating expected delivery date; explaining stock-outs. * Develops accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features. * Maintains communication equipment by troubleshooting, reporting, and tracking problems. * Maintains and improves quality results by following standards; recommending improved policies and procedures. * Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities. * Accomplishes department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or GED; Prefer college or trade school and a strong math background * Mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair work experience * Strong knowledge of lubrication, hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, electrical and electronics technologies * Must have 2 to 4 years sales experience * Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem solving skills * Dedicated, self-motivated team member, willing and able to work independently and in a team system * Willingness to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities * Willing to train in other skilled areas * Able to work any shift, including weekends * Able to work overtime given with short notice * Able to lift 75 pounds occasionally and 30-50 pounds frequently * Valid Washington drivers license and reliable personal transportation to get to other job sites and run errands * The employer will conduct a criminal background check.
